One of the many cornerstones of Pressure Point Study is the interpretation or Bunkai of the Kata or patterns practiced in the martial arts. The reason is simple, to find a purpose and to be able to visualize what is happening with a particular technique or movement.
Now there are traditional interpretations of Kata, but most of these are not pressure point related interpretation. Below I offer a video that will show an example of Kata Bunkai using the Korean ITF Hyung called Do San. Now, there are no wrong interpretations to a Kata, but there is always room for improvement. Take a look at any of the Kata you preform in your art. Can you find a pressure point application for the different moves? It does take some practice!
Below is a knockout hitting ST-5 from the Hyung or Kata Do San. The final move was changed somewhat for the safety of my Uki.
