When I first started in the martial arts in Canada I was involved in a combination of Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. The Korean Grandmaster I was under was a 8th Dan Hapkido and a 7th Dan Tae Kwon Do. He was also a close friend of General Choi at one time appearing in his encyclopedia.
